Is it possible to go underneath the nose and and make a lip for it to mount on?

I’m not seeing a problem. The nose is 1 stud wide and the front wing has an odd number of studs meaning you can place it on the middle one.

This. Another option would be two of the 3X1 angled pieces joined by a 2X1 single stud with the single stud attaching to the nose.
